Thank You, Again!
Or You Only Turn 100 Once.
This is my 100th article. I want to thank everyone who supports my work by following, subscribing, sharing, restacking, quoting, and reading my work. What began as an outlet for me has become a running narrative as we navigate the tumult of living. We need not agree on everything, and I don’t expect it, but I do enjoy discourse and opposing views. If my missives make you think, that’s the point. If you find commonality with my writing, that’s the goal. It’s meant to be broadening in an increasingly obtuse world. Thank you.
I could exceed ~300 subscribers, but I have many detractors who stopped liking what I write. Some are quite bellicose when they quit. That’s fine. I’m at 240 currently, and my growth is higher in the last few months than ever before, though I’ve discovered being vulnerable with expressing my thoughts and adhering to my integrity has become expensive. I appreciate every one of you tuning in each week for the authentic experience I strive to deliver.
If you haven’t looked at my novels and other writing, please do so on my Amazon page. Want autographed copies? Message me and I’ll give you the details!
Parallel to my weekly posts, I’m posting a serial fiction series called The Curse of El Corrado. It’s a noir story in the vein of 1920s pulp fiction and the first installment is out now. I hope everyone enjoys it!
This has been a journey. I have yet to have an article go viral. There are days when I feel like my voice’s impact is akin to a raindrop hitting a waterfall. I’ve considered quitting and just giving up several times. But when I’m on the edge of doing so I receive a note from a subscriber or reader who lets me know my writing either had an impact on them or they enjoy how I articulate things they, too, are feeling. That makes it worth it. A spiritual paycheck, for sure.
Thank you for sticking with me. If you’d share and recommend my work to at least one of your friends I could double my subscriber count overnight. This helps the algorithm recognize my work and gives it a boost. That notwithstanding, I’ll keep writing regardless because it’s great for my own mental health.
Like. Share. Subscribe.
I couldn’t do it without you.
Please consider becoming a paid subscriber. It’s $2 a week—less than a beer when you go out and perhaps as satisfying without the caloric deficit—and $80 annually. It really helps me as a writer, and you’ll receive access to exclusive content including advanced project previews and releases. Thanks!

Thank you for leaning into the raw and honest topics. I appreciate how you weave your own lived experience in everything I’ve seen you create. True guts. Congrats on your 100th! Looking forward the next 100! Semper Fi
Ivan, congratulations on your 100th article. As a former Marine, I deeply respect the honesty, vulnerability, and integrity in your writing. The fact that you keep showing up and speaking candidly; especially in the darker moments, is exactly why your voice matters. A lot more people are listening than you probably realize. Thanks for your work and keep writing! S/f
